The Pluggable Car

The electric car is making a huge stir in the auto industry this year. With gas prices continually on the rise people are looking at the best options to find a new form of fueling up their vehicle. These care are still pretty expensive, but they have a lot of people considering what the cars of the future will be like. This can also bring up a lot of questions about the plug in cars actually function.

Many electrical cars are still in a hybrid phase which means that they run on both gasoline and  electricity. This allows the car to actually build up electricity to boost the cars power whenever the car accelerates or has to stop and go a lot. The electric part of the car can even be charged up with gasoline so you can spend more time running on the electric than the expensive gas.

A lot of hybrids today, however, run on a gasoline based engine. This means that the electric aspect is used secondary and in areas where the car will get the least amount of gas mileage. For instance, if you are driving in town your car might run on electric while on the highway it might switch to gas in order to get the most distance out of the fuel it has. Although you car isn't fully running on electricity you will find that it does actually save you in gas mileage and is quite a bit better for the environment.

Plug in cars are a really great way to fight against the rising gas prices. Even if you don't go for a fully electric car, the hybrid is a great starting point for your to break away from gasoline dependency. You will really enjoy how easy these high tech cars are to get used to which will really make your transition seem like a breeze.
